Michelle Farnsworth

Before Be Magazine came to be, I had always imagined showcasing women who create in our community. Now, we are up and running, and our Be Creative issue is going to be one of my favorites. Although I have to admit, I wish I had a 500 page magazine to feature all the creative women our community is blessed to have enriching our lives.

"You are so creative" is a phrase I have heard throughout my life. It is a wonderful compliment, and in my younger years I didn't have the confidence to accept those compliments. I have learned to embrace my creativity and now it rules my world. I would love to take credit for my brain cells, but I cannot. I get the creative genes from my grandmother and mother. My mother is the real creative brain child, and all that I do is because of her influence.

My goal for this issue is to introduce you to women from many different walks of life. Perhaps you will recognize some of these talents, and hopefully you will get to know someone you may not have heard of before. But either way, you are going to love what they do.

I'm also excited about our regular columnists who have interviewed women that make creativity their business. Can you really raise a family, use your talent to establish a business and run it successfully? The answer is yes and you will find out all about them. Having lived in Bismarck my entire life, except for a few brief stints away, I have watched our community grow into something with real heart and soul. The arts and entertainment community have established themselves and are turning Bismarck into a vibrant and exciting place to be. Creative women are making their presence known.

Be Yourself.
