Hey smartie. Don't get smart with me. Well, don't you look smart. Are you smarter than a 5th grader?

After repeating the word smart over and over, its starts to sound funny to me. Intelligence. Can it be learned? Or do you think it's something that can be taught? Obviously our society is built on the premise of getting educated, which ultimately leads to learning, growing and hopefully continuing on the path to higher education.

Many times the train we thought we were taking to our ultimate career or life goal takes an unexpected turn or perhaps goes completely off the rails. For my path I KNEW I would be in public relations or television news in a larger market. That train didn't even leave the station. The real life of working to pay bills, then settling into marriage and having children, delayed those goals for many years.

Although there are tremendous opportunities in today's ever changing world of technology, education and business; the competitive atmosphere can make it very difficult to find your way.

In this month's Be Smart issue, we will introduce you to women who are successful in their own rights. We will show you what they do and give a little insight as to how they achieved their goals. We hope that you will find these women an inspiration to you in whatever stage of your journey to whom you were meant to be in your life. Be Yourself.
